Honoring Our Veterans

Hollywood District, Portland Oregon November 11, 2022 – As part of the America 250 Celebrations, the Lewis & Clark Chapter of the Oregon Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) are honored to again march with our friends the Portland Chapter of the Oregon Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) in the Portland Veterans Day Parade starting at 10am.

Wreaths Across America Program

Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Oregon. The Lewis & Clark Color Guard is honored to provide a musket volley at the event again this year.
“Part of what we do is not only sell wreaths at our public booth, but our Oregon SAR Color Guard will lay wreaths at specific veteran’s graves, say their name and salute them in honor of their service,” said Michael Tieman, State President, Oregon SAR. “This year our Color Guard will again lay wreaths at specific graves. From William Cannon, the only Revolutionary War Soldier buried in Oregon, veterans of the war of 1812, WWI and WWII to veterans of current conflicts.”

Sunday December 18, 2022, Starting at 1:30pm at the William Cannon Gravesite in the St. Paul, Oregon cemetery.
Every year the Oregon Society Sons of the American Revolution Color Guard honors the only Revolutionary War Patriot buried in Oregon and Washington by laying a wreath on his grave in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
Please join us, the Oregon Sons of the American Revolution, the Oregon Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Oregon Children of the American Revolution in our wreath laying ceremony this year.
